Still, so beautiful, inside and out, and Aragorn felt, amid the bright night, the truth inside him pulled to the surface. His lips, gentle against silvered hair, whispered, 'I love you.'
Boromir, sleeping, neither spoke nor moved. Aragorn cursed his coward's pounding heart, edged closer, yet suddenly stilled, stared.
Boromir, not sleeping. 'I know.'
The truth blazed in Aragorn then, as Boromir neither spoke nor moved, but lay still as Aragorn reached out.
