Viggo carefully planted the seeds at (what he thought was) the most opportune time. Orlando, flush with life, had just walked away from Sean with spring in his step.
Bright days and hot nights then fertilized Viggo's dreams: hopes of Sean scorching his skin, slaking his thirst, of reaching out together for the sky. No. He's not ready yet.
Suddenly the leaves turned and it came time to harvest; but too many long evenings alone had cultivated indecision, a sort of laziness, and false security.
And soon afterwards -- too soon -- the first flakes of winter began to fall.
