There are a number of different silences. There is the easy silence shared with a lover where words would only detract. There is the silence of the wee small hours, broken by the soft murmurings of the man burrowed into his side.
Then there is this silence, the one pressing down on him with the weight of the world behind it; where the tension is so thick to be palpable, all caused by the utterance of eight letters arranged into three words. "I wish I'd never said it," Sean whispers, the misery evident. "I wish I could take it back."
